The Old Paradians’ Association, in conjunction with the Parents of Parade, is to support Parade College’s Learning Partnership Program (LAPP), which will, through the year encompass courses such as bricklaying, fitness and masterchef.
The first course – bricklaying - takes place on Wednesday evenings (May 31, June 7, 14 and 21) from 5.30 pm- 7.30 pm.
Participants in the four-week bricklaying course will be engaged in the techniques required to lay face quality brick structures in an enjoyable environment.
The skills that participants can expect to gain are selecting and preparing bricklaying tools and equipment; laying bricks to a string line; the use of a spirit level and profiles to align brick work; and building your own brick letter box.
Participants will also be taught the tolerances allowed for brick work in the Australian standards.
Supper will follow the final night on June 21 with presentation of certificates. The course will be conducted in the Edmund Rice Trade Training Centre.
Cost of this course is $70 by cheque, cash, EFTPOS, credit card or in person at Parade College Reception Bundoora or Preston. Registrations with payment close on Friday, May 26 and will be processed in order of receipt.
