PARADE COLLEGE

As a part of our plan to create opportunities for Old Paradians to connect, our first arranged invitation to visit the College for a tour was instituted. We had the pleasure of welcoming back our Old Paradian guests, Pat Mount (1962), Brian Tooth (1968), Craig Sandford (1985), Glen Sandford (1989) and former College Captain Chris Sullivan (2008).

All were amazed to see the developments that have taken place at the College. Brian Tooth matriculated in the first year of the Bundoora campus in 1968 and was able to see the huge changes that have taken place in that period. We were able to visit the College Heritage Centre, Hickey Foyer which contains all the College Honour Boards and Hall of Fame panels, the Performing Arts Centre, Theatre, the Waterford Sports precinct, our trade training facilities including newly opened O’Shannassy Plumbing Centre, our Edmund Rice Trade Training Centre, Bedford Sports Centre and Nash Learning Centre.

Craig Sandford resides in the UK and has been back home recently. Chris Sullivan is now a naval officer. Glen Sandford played around 200 games in the SANFL after 5 games for Collingwood in 1993-94. He now spends much of his time travelling the world! Brian Tooth is retired living in Donvale having worked as an accountant in both the private and public sector. Pat Mount is a retired pharmacist now living in Port Melbourne and a regular at the OPA RACV monthly lunches.

The visit concluded with morning tea and further good conversation.

The OPA Alumni College Tours will be held each term in 2023.
