The Old Paradians' Association has confirmed Simon O'Donnell as Guest Speaker for its upcoming monthly Luncheon at RACV Melbourne City Club on October 11, commencing 12 noon (pre-Luncheon drinks).
Simon is a former Australian cricketer, VFL footballer, and horse racing and cricket commentator. He is currently a horse breeder and was involved with the Old Paradian Terry Henderson (1966) in OTI Racing.
Since 1936, when the Association’s former President CMS Power addressed a gathering at Buckley & Nunn’s Dining Room in the city, the OPA has, on every second Wednesday of the month, convened a Luncheon – quite possibly the longest continuous luncheon in the world.
Today, the RACV Melbourne City Club on Bourke Street serves as the forum for this friendly gathering of Old Boys bound by the purple, green and blue. Cost is $42 for the Luncheon and Guest Speaker, plus drinks at bar prices.
The OPA urges all Old Boys, particularly those currently working within close proximity in the city, to spare an hour and turn out in support of what is a truly unique Melbourne institution.
