The 2023 monthly RACV Old Paradians luncheons kicked off with its February gathering. Running continuously since 1936, yet another wonderful get together took place.

Keith Sharkie (Honorary Old Paradian) again plays a pivotal role in organising these monthly events. This year marks his 40^th year of connection to the Old Paradians' Association, beginning as a Committee member and President of the Old Paradians Football Club in 1983.

Pat Mount (1962) again did an excellent job as Master of Ceremonies. He was able to welcome and introduce Professor Emeritus at La Trobe University Barry Blake (1954) as guest speaker. Barry has had a distinguished academic career as an Australian linguist specialising in the description of Australian Aboriginal languages. Barry was able to provide guests with an engaging insight into Aboriginal language types, syntax and grammar. Insights into how Aboriginal language has developed, changed and the challenges it faces were also made. Guests were able to ask questions at the conclusion of his presentation.
