It was great to see over 40 in attendance at the E. Bar, Old England Hotel to celebrate the reunion of the class of 1975. Michael Kennedy, Ian Bibby and John Joss, teachers in 1975 were in attendance and were warmly welcomed by the group.
We aim to have only a small number of formalities, and I was able to welcome and thank attendees, outline the role and aims of the Association and provide an update on the school and the very many changes that have taken place since they left the College. Importantly, we remembered those men from the class who have sadly passed away since leaving the College.
College Captain Paul Johnston was able to share some reflections with the group. College Vice Captain, a local GP, Tony Sellars brought along a poster adorned with the signatures of the class and teachers done just prior to leaving. It will make its way to College archives. Long time staff member Anthony Cicutto was also able to attend.
Many of the men have retired or are transitioning to retirement. They all spoke fondly of their time at Parade, many commenced at the Alphington campus in primary school.
Thanks go to those in the group that were able to ‘get the word out’ about the reunion. Thanks also to our Alumni Assistant Hayley Workman for her efforts in organising the function.
