The e.Bar at Old England Hotel provided the venue for the Class of 2013 to come together and celebrate their 10-year Reunion.
Close to 40 Old Paradians gathered to reconnect and share stories of school & life after school. There was a strong sense of pride and connection to the College, demonstrated in the many lively interactions that took place.
During the formalities, John Nicholls outlined some of the OPA's activities and events and encouraged the group to stay in touch and perhaps contribute formally to the Association when the opportunity arises. 2013 College Captain, Daniel Valeri, reflected on his pride at being an Old Paradian and the value of friendships and networks the connection provided.
Of particular interest were the varied career pathways taken by many in attendance. It was not uncommon to hear “I didn’t think I would be doing this 10 years ago!” Daniel Valeri spoke of becoming a physiotherapist via an Exercise Science degree as he didn't obtain the initial ATAR required for Physiotherapy. Outstanding VCAL Student 2013, Michael Visona, had a passion for the aviation industry whilst at school however the path to realising this career took very many steps and great persistence.
The following 2013 Valete Graduation Award winners were present: Daniel Valeri, James Ruta, Peter Shallue, Michael Kerrigan and Michael Visona.
John Nicholls and Lexie Stewart, from the OPA office, welcomed guests and presented each with an OPA lapel pin while the attendance of staff member, Ivan Kummerle, and former staff member, Craig Seckold, was greatly appreciated by the cohort.
